It’s been a while since I last posted on my blog. All I can tell you is life’s been happening all the while in between the posts. I am now completely able to focus on my photography and what better way to kick things off than a sweet little wedding! This wedding had a back home feel, even though it was set in the beautiful Rose Briar Place Wedding Venue. It was quaint place, with a Spanish type vibe to it. Heavy wooden doors, glossy wooden floors, and stained glass set the tone.
This place is a perfect location for a small wedding because they have taken advantage of every space making it picture-worthy. Not only that, but they also make the wedding easy to photograph. The staff was efficient and the wedding ran effortlessly. Their catchphrase is “you bring the dress, we will handle the rest” They aren’t kidding.. When you have a small wedding with little time a venue like this takes the stress out of the big day. A little backstory on our bride and groom. Ethan and Malea met in high school. They have been dating since they were 13. After graduation, a promise of marriage soon followed. They have been planning all year for this big day, and then…COVID. The wedding planning was halted for a brief time, but then picked up full steam. The bride’s sister and mother helped Malea plan everything to perfection with Molly the wedding coordinator from Rose briar. They had eight bridesmaids adorned in flowy gowns in colors of pale pinks, peachy pinks and for the maid of honor a purple-pink. The groomsmen stood stoic clad in gray suits and pale pink florals. The showstopper of the day aside from the Bride was great-grandma NeNe as their flower girl. She came down the aisle with a tiny white basket, gave everyone petals before the bride walked into the room. The groom teared up when the bride and entered, and the bride beamed and was shy as she made her way with her father to meet him. A teacher of theirs, Mr. Young officiated the wedding, and did a fantastic job. He gave wisdom, humor and reverence to the event. As the bride stood on that stage her groom smiled at her in a way that would make everyone wish they were that bride.( He did that all night long). It was beautiful to see. The rest of the evening was just laid back fun. a buffet of finger foods, gorgeous naked cake, a tiny photo booth and great music played on for the rest of the evening.
My take-aways from this wedding are as follows. Wedding venues like Rose Briar Place can be real time savers if you are doing a small wedding. They do all the setup, clean up along with security and running of the wedding and all you do is enjoy the big day. Secondly, make your wedding about you. There are no rules when it comes to what you love, except your budget. Make it for you to actually enjoy. As a photographer, I want you to sit down with your new spouse, and eat something, savor the cake, enjoy your friends. I wish many happy blessings to Ethan and Malea Parsons #youaremyparsons. As they finish their schooling and build their life, I hope that they will never lose that love that brought them together today. I hope the sermon the officiant gave will stay close to their hearts. I hope the verses her sister and maid of honor Sicily gave them will bind them together in what love really is. I hope the desires of success from the bride’s father stick with them when things get tough. I hope the laughter the best man and brother of the groom Kade brought will show them it’s good to sometimes just laugh. Another wedding to come, and it’s just as wonderful as you can imagine with the cutest couple ever but for today Jessica Stone Photography wishes the Parsons a wonderful life together.
